Making this apple pie has never been easier! I made this pie for Thanksgiving and it was absolutely delicious. Try it out!
- 6 cups sliced and peeled apples
- 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 tbs all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbs lemon juice
- 1 box any brand refrigerated pie crust, or make your own
- Pie tin
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line your pie tin with a pie crust. Press firmly on the bottom and sides.
Cut and peel six cups of apples. This would be about six medium sized apples, or four large apples. An easy way to peel and core your apples is to use an apple corer, but if you don’t have one, you can hand cut, peel, and core your apples.
In a large ziploc bag, add sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg together. Shake this up until well combined. You can also use a large bowl for this.
Add in apples and lemon juice, then shake well until all apple slices are completely coated.
Pour apples into pie tin, then use the second pie crust to cover the top of the pie. Poke some holes on the top to vent the pie (if you cut a lattice, you do not need to cut any holes).
Trim off the edges of the pie so no crust hangs over.
Bake the pie in the oven for 40-45 minutes. After the first 15 minutes, cover the edges or any place with excessive browning in foil.
Allow the pie to cool after coming out of the oven before serving.
