Hey everyone! I haven’t posted for a while, so let’s get to it!
Today’s post is about making a chocolate mug cake. This recipe makes a super moist and delicious cake. These are fun to make with friends, or just if you want a single portioned dessert that doesn’t require much effort.
Mug cakes are the super easy way to make a single portioned size of cake. And I’ve got to say, they taste better than store bought chocolate cakes.
Although I said these are “5 minute mug cakes”, if you know your kitchen well and can bake decently, you can prepare the cake in a shorter time than it takes to microwave it. So, it’s more like a “3 minute mug cake”. But there aren’t any promises here.
Okay, I don’t actually love chocolate cake that much. I’m more of a pie person (by “more”, I mean: I’M A PIE PERSON). But all the same, cake is better if you make it yourself.
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 3 tbs milk
- 2 tbs vegetable oil
- 1 tbs water
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: powdered/confectioners/icing sugar to garnish
Combine all ingredients in a large mug or a bowl. Mix well.
Cook in the microwave for 1 minute and 45 seconds to 2 minutes until the cake is done in the middle.
Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar or another topping of your choice.
