Cream Cheese Frosting

I used this frosting in my posts Seasonal Pumpkin Cupcakes, and Chocolate Cupcakes, and decided to make a separate post about it. This frosting is delicious, and this is coming from someone who isn’t much of a frosting fan.

There are variations of this recipe which I have used, and I will put both down below (they are practically the same).

Frosting #1 Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (1 package) room temperature cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick/8 tbsp)
  • 2 3/4 cups powdered/confectioners/icing sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

In a large bowl, whip room temperature cream cheese and butter together.

Add in vanilla. Beat in the powdered sugar parts at a time (I recommend adding it in by the 1/2 cup). Once all of the sugar is added, chill frosting for about 20 minutes or until slightly firm on the outside.

Frosting #2 Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese (straight from the fridge)
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick/8 tbsp)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered/confectioners/icing sugar

Directions:

Same as above.
